Our last meeting of the year on the 25th November will be different to the advertised programme; we will be ringing at Misson from 4.30-5.30pm but the bells at Bawtry cannot be rung at present due to serious problems with the church roof. We are still trying to find an alternative tower.
Congratulations to Harold and Joy Johnson, who celebrate their golden (50th) wedding anniversary this Saturday 14th October; there will be a special service at Adwick church at 3pm on Saturday to celebrate.
Our coach outing on 30th September was a wonderful day out with 13 ringers on the coach and we were joined by another 3 ringers who travelled by car. We were particularly privileged to ring on the lovely bells at Northallerton, whilst the very light bells at Brompton were of unique character, the pub lunch was superb and everyone loved Joy’s chocolate cakes at tea time; standard of ringing was good and the outing was enjoyed by all who attended. Many thanks to Ted for organising such a lovely day.
The Oswy Street memorial cup – an open 6 bell striking competition (360 changes of a six bell method) is being held at East Drayton, North Notts on Saturday 14th October, starting at 2.30pm (however they need names for tea by 6th October). Our Society would like to enter a team or even two, you must be able to ring touches of Bob Minor . If you are interested in taking part, please let Ted Steele know as soon as possible.

Updates on Sprotbrough from Tim Wheeler (Tower Captain). 15 June 2017
As advised by the Architect, after this weekend, except for special services such as weddings, all Ringing will cease whilst the tower repairs are undertaken. The work is scheduled to last for 6 weeks. Thus Ringing is likely to re-commence early August.
